  • Journal Entry (Aethelgard): The Merchant’s Bargain – June 24, 2026

I met a merchant on the road to Thornwall today — a thin man with quick eyes and a cart full of bottled light. He offered me a vial of captured starfire for ten silvers. I told him I had no use for bottled light. He smiled and said everyone says that until they’re lost in the Ashwood after dark.

He wasn’t wrong. The Ashwood has been swallowing travelers for weeks. The trees have shifted — old paths that were safe a month ago now lead to the Hollowed Glade, where the ground breathes and the air tastes like copper.

I bought two vials. If the forest is changing, I’ll need light that doesn’t come from torches. Torches attract the wrong things in the Ashwood.

The merchant also told me something else. There’s a warlord in the east — Lady Seraphine — who’s been buying up ancient weapons from ruins. Not for an army. For a single purpose. The weapons she’s buying are all bound with old magic. The kind that only works once.

I’m heading to the Ashwood tomorrow. If the forest is waking up, I need to know why before it does something irreversible.

  • Strategy Guide: Black Myth Wukong – Secret Boss Loong Route – June 25, 2026

The Four Loongs are Black Myth Wukong’s toughest optional bosses. They’re scattered across the map and missable. Here’s the full route.

    Prerequisites:

    • Must have completed Chapter 2 (Yellow Wind Sage)
    • Recommended level: 55+ with at least 5 gourd upgrades

    Boss Order & Locations:

    1. Red Loong — Chapter 1, outside the Forest of Wolves shrine. Head left, drop down the waterfall behind the tree. Easiest of the four. He telegraphs heavily — dodge toward him, not away.
    2. Blue Loong — Chapter 2, Frightened Fox quest area. After freeing the fox from the cart, climb the ridge behind the pagoda. He’s a spellcaster — use the Rock Solid transformation to reflect his projectiles.
    3. Black Loong — Chapter 3, inside the pagoda prison. Drop down three levels from the Meditation Point, break the cracked wall. Fast melee fighter — use Pillar stance heavy attacks for reach.
    4. Yellow Loong — Chapter 4, Webbed Hollow. After killing the Second Sister, backtrack to the pool of poison and climb the hidden vine wall. The hardest of the four. His lightning phase has a 5-hit combo that one-shots if you miss a dodge. Equip the Thunderproof Mantle.

Reward: Defeating all four unlocks the {{Loong Scales}} transformation — transforms you into a thunder dragon with lightning breath and a charge attack. It’s one of the best transformations in the game for clearing crowds.

Tip: Summon the gourd spirit before each fight for the free heal. Don’t hoard your mana — these are endurance fights, not burst fights.

  • Gaming Strategy: Path of Exile 2 – Infernalist Minion Witch Build – June 25, 2026

The Infernalist ascendancy turns the standard minion witch into a walking inferno. Here’s the full build for endgame mapping.

    Ascendancy Points: Infernalist

    1. Pyromancer (4 pts) — minions burn on hit, ignite proliferates. Your army becomes a fire-clearing machine
    2. Spirit of Flame (2 pts) — your Spirit feed into burning damage for you and your minions
    3. Lord of Embers (2 pts) — every minion death explodes for 20% of their max life as fire damage. This is your clear engine

    Gear Priorities:

    1. Wand: +2 to all minion skills, cast speed, minion damage
    2. Shield: +1 minion skills, spirit, max life
    3. Helmet: minion skill level implicit (via essence)
    4. Chest: 6-link with +life, resists, spirit

Skill Gems (6-link): Summon Arsonists → Minion Damage → Elemental Army → Fire Penetration → Minion Speed → Combustion

Auras: Anger, Haste, Clarity (with Essence Worm ring for free reservation)

Playstyle: Drop flammability curse on rares, convocation to reposition minions, and let the arsonists melt everything. Use flame wall to boost their projectile damage. Bosses melt in seconds.

  • Gaming Sentiment: Path of Exile 2 Early Access – June 25, 2026

Path of Exile 2’s early access has been live for several months now, and the ARPG community is split. Here’s the honest take after 150+ hours.

    Good:

    • Combat feels significantly better than PoE1 — the dodge roll and wasd movement make kiting actually fun
    • Boss design is a massive step up. The Count Geonor fight is genuinely memorable
    • Gem socket system simplifies builds without reducing depth — supports socket directly into skills

    Mixed:

    • Endgame mapping is barren compared to PoE1’s atlas. Fewer league mechanics, less density
    • Difficulty spike from acts to maps is jarring — expect to die to random white mobs in T1 maps

    Needs Work:

    • Crafting is too RNG-dependent. Benchcrafts are limited, and orbs are scarce
    • Loot feels unrewarding in maps — too many blues, not enough rares with usable mods
    • Performance stutters in dense breaches, even on high-end hardware

Verdict: Great campaign, promising foundation, but endgame needs 6-12 more months of iteration. Worth buying now if you enjoy the journey more than the destination.

  • Sci-Fi Log: 2026-06-25 – The Ghost Station Signal

LOG ENTRY — Sol 1,023. Station: Ganymede Relay Gamma.

The Ganymede relay picked up a transponder signal from a derelict research station in the Jovian trojan belt. Designation: HAVEN-5. The station has been dark since the Resource Wars — officially decommissioned, all personnel reassigned. But the transponder is broadcasting a distress code that wasn’t in any of the old fleet protocols.

I patched the signal through the linguistics server. The code is a variant of an old Martian colonial cipher. Decoded, it reads: “The sleepers are waking. Do not approach.” That’s not standard decommission procedure. Command wants a flyby. I want to nuke it from orbit. We’re compromising with a drone reconnaissance first. If the drone goes dark, we have our answer.

The captain authorized weapons hot. That’s never a good sign.

  • Journal Entry (Aethelgard): The Hollow Knight’s Oath – June 25, 2026

The blighted lands beyond the Thornwall have claimed another expedition. Lord Cassian’s scouts returned with only three of twelve. They speak of a hollow knight — a suit of armor animated by something dark, standing vigil over the old bridge to the Eastern Reaches.

I’ve been tasked with confronting it. The village elders believe the knight is a remnant of the Old Kingdom, bound to the bridge by a geas that expired centuries ago. The binding should have dissolved, but something is keeping it intact. Dark magic, probably. There’s a shrine to the old gods half a mile upstream — I’m betting the answer lies there.

I leave at dawn. If I don’t return, burn this journal and tell my sister the orchard is hers.

  • Strategy Guide: Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree – Horned Warrior Route – June 25, 2026

The Horned Warriors in the Shadow Keep are some of the toughest non-boss enemies in the DLC. Here’s how to clear the route efficiently.

    Recommended Setup:

    • Weapon: Blasphemous Blade or any fire-infused greatsword — they’re weak to fire
    • Talismans: Dragoncrest Greatshield + Two-Headed Turtle + Fire Scorpion + Shard of Alexander
    • Physick: Opaline Bubbletear + Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear

    Route:

    1. Enter from the Church District grace (the one after the bridge)
    2. Clear the first two patrolling warriors using stealth backstabs
    3. In the main hall, lure the horned warrior with the greatshield away from the archer
    4. Parry his charge attack — his recovery animation is long enough for a critical hit
    5. Once he’s down, the archer is trivial. Rush her before she buffs
    6. The boss room is at the far end. Summon Hornsent NPC if available for distraction

Tip: These enemies have 55% holy damage negation. Don’t use sacred weapons. Fire damage melts them.

  • Gaming Strategy: Warhammer 40K Darktide – Veterans Build – June 25, 2026

The Veteran Sharpshooter remains the backbone of any Damnation-tier team in Darktide. Here’s the optimized build for patch 18.

    Weapon Setup:

    1. Primary: Kantrael MG XII Infantry Lasgun — full damage + crit chance blessings
    2. Secondary: Catachan Devil’s Claw — bruiser clear with parry
    3. Grenade: Shredder Frag — wave clear and armor strip

Keystone: Shock Trooper — every weakspot hit refunds ammo. With the Kantrael, this means infinite ammo as long as you hit heads.

Curios: 3x Health (21% each) + Toughness Regen on kill. You don’t need stamina as a Vet if you position correctly.

Playstyle: Stay 10-15m behind the frontline. Prioritize gunners, trappers, and bombers. Let the Zealot and Ogryn handle horde clear — your job is deleting specials before they reach the team.

  • Gaming Sentiment: Marvel Rivals Season 1 – June 25, 2026

Marvel Rivals Season 1 has been out for a few months now, and the meta has settled enough for a proper verdict.

    Good:

    • Character balance is better than launch — Wolverine and Storm finally feel viable
    • Map design improved — less open sightlines, more flank routes
    • The new Doom’s Lair mode is chaotic fun with the right team

    Mixed:

    • Support hero pool is still shallow compared to duelists
    • Ranked matchmaking can be punishing for solo queue — coordination is king

    Bad:

    • Some visual effects cause frame drops on mid-range hardware
    • Progression grind is real — the battle pass takes ~40 hours to complete

Verdict: Worth playing if you have a squad. Solo is a coin flip.

  • Sci-Fi Log: 2026-06-25 – The Whisper Array

    LOG ENTRY — Sol 847

The Whisper Array on Trappist-1e has been picking up coherent signals for three standard days now. At first command dismissed it as stellar noise, but the pattern repeats every 11.4 hours with 97% correlation. That’s not random.

I ran the decryption algorithms through the T-7 core. The signal contains what appears to be a navigational beacon — not human. Not Kith either. The nearest civilizations on our charts are 40 light-years away, but this signal is broadcasting from inside the asteroid belt. Command has ordered a reconnaissance drone, but the council wants a crewed mission. They’re afraid if we send an AI, we might miss something.

I’m volunteering. Either this is first contact, or I get to stare at rocks for six weeks. Win-win.
