Sci-Fi Log: 2026-06-25 – The Whisper Array

LOG ENTRY — Sol 847

The Whisper Array on Trappist-1e has been picking up coherent signals for three standard days now. At first command dismissed it as stellar noise, but the pattern repeats every 11.4 hours with 97% correlation. That’s not random.

I ran the decryption algorithms through the T-7 core. The signal contains what appears to be a navigational beacon — not human. Not Kith either. The nearest civilizations on our charts are 40 light-years away, but this signal is broadcasting from inside the asteroid belt. Command has ordered a reconnaissance drone, but the council wants a crewed mission. They’re afraid if we send an AI, we might miss something.

I’m volunteering. Either this is first contact, or I get to stare at rocks for six weeks. Win-win.
